I have since come back to using tools for thought like obsidian as a primary part in my daily life / workflow when on the computer.

Unlike previous attempts at making it a habit, the goal this time is not to write more and keep track of things at work. This time my goal is to resist the negative consequences of the dead internet theory and Agentrification by archiving and digesting what may become ancient ruins of the world wide web.

With the AI craze continuing to grow and being injected everywhere, not to mention every app and platform beginning to optimize for AI like they did for SEO, the internet feels like it’s becoming even more toxic and exploitative/aggressive towards the human mind.

This (A)gentrification of the internet is attempting to leave behind the internet humans created for a new bleaker existence on the web where organic curiosity is becomes difficult to cultivate and feed.

Humans thrive when exposed to new stimuli and rabbit holes allow you to discover new magical worlds. Every thought you have can branch into any number of new thoughts.

Aside from the potential cognitive decline experienced when relying on AI assistants, thinking through problems and applying critical thinking and critique triggers spawns new thoughts and establishes new neural connections. Humans thrive when we light up our neural pathways. These pathways don’t just increase ingenuity and productivity - they are also make us who we are.

I am generally trying to capture anything I find online that aligns with keeping humanity as a citizen of the web. From art and music, to decentralized projects and the open social web which empower us to be remain primary agents that can shape out our ecosystem.

Hopefully this can help to resist becoming a lost soul in the dead internet. Worst case is I have a little memory box of the past. And hopefully enough people care to do the same, and maintain this humanity within some type shared knowledge graph
